Heading into the Bank Holiday weekend, which are always notoriously linked with a DIY project, it seems only fitting we end this week with a home décor inspired blog – ‘house’ about that?
Spotting the latest products and designs being introduced in the interiors world, this week I hit the road with Heritage Bathrooms Interior Design Consultant Charlotte Conway at Clerkenwell Design Week 2016.
Home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else on the planet, Clerkenwell is arguably one of the most important design hubs in the world and #CDW2016 showcases some stunning brands with showrooms and exhibitions – it’s hard not to be inspired. Here are the brands that turned my head on the day:
Tom Dixon ‘lighting’ the way: ‘Tom Dixon at The Church’ at #CDW2016 was a collaboration of the brand’s new lighting and furniture products against the heritage and historic backdrop of the architecturally stunning 17th century church on Clerkenwell Green. With stunning rich gold and copper hues strongly influenced throughout the collection, the on-trend designs definitely made me take a pew!
#Tilesense with Caesar at the Urban Lab: our CEO Rachel is a big fan of Italian tiling inspiration, and this stunning creative space was a worthwhile stop. With a statement showpiece of porcelain marble effect reaching over two metres in height – this display certainly makes you think about joining the trend for the tile high club!
Writing on the Wall with Archie Proudfoot: this bespoke hand painted signage, blended with geometric shapes and bold colours made picture perfect wall art, and definitely put the brand in the ‘frame’ for our top picks from the show – we’re just wondering how many we could commission to display our service areas around the office!
Striking Gold with Quixotic Bespoke: attention to detail is something I love, and the copper under finish detailing on this stunning oak table certainly ‘wood’ be the perfect addition to either the Birmingham or Leicester spottydog offices – or both?!
