The Ab Fab reputation might suggest that liquid lubrication goes hand in hand with great PR. So mixing it up with a cocktail masterclass at All Bar One in Birmingham seemed the perfect way to celebrate how we’ve moving and shaking since achieving our CIPR Midlands Consultancy of the Year Award at the end of last year. Like the cocktails we’ve been throwing, we’re fizzing with enthusiasm to share some great news we’ve been making.
We’ve just completed our fifth fabulous year of operations and in the last twelve months we’ve doubled our team from six to thirteen. It means our talented team of pups really are best in breed for offering dedicated expertise in PR, Social Media, Digital communications and content creation.
We’ve also appointed a new top dog, thanks to the addition of Michael Hobbs who joins us as spottydog Chairman. With 30 years’ experience at the helm of some of the hottest names in retail, Michael’s impeccable pedigree holding senior, CEO and Chairman roles with retailers who have included Adams Childrenswear, Laura Ashley and Sears Group will ensure that spottydog continues to go walkies in the word of PR.
We’ve just welcomed two new pups – Rachel Sharpe joins our Birmingham team as a PR, Social Media and Communications Executive, together with Seb Hobbs who heads up our new Studio capability which enables us to deliver graphic design and video production in-house.
As well as welcoming new people, we’re toasting our appointment by two new clients, the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) and Pedigree Wholesale. Steeped in history, the Jewellery Quarter is one of Birmingham’s most vibrant and lively locations. An important residential and business district, spottydog is supporting them to raise awareness of neighbourhood as a great place to live, learn, work and visit. For Pedigree, we’re tasked with supporting the Chuckit! brand who have created a range of interactive pet toys designed for fetch-tastic play for dogs and their owners. With a host of events planned by JQBID and Pedigree’s and Chuckit! brand we literally expect to have a ball with both of these two new paw-fect partners.
New clients and new people means that we’ve had to supersize our Birmingham office which means we’ve now joined a host of brilliant other media and creative businesses at The Big Peg in the Jewellery Quarter with the team powered by shots from our friends at Urban Coffee Company.
Our celebrations at our All Bar One Masterclass were made complete with the news that spottydog’s Head of Birmingham Beth Meads had passed her driving test. Luckily, we’re now able to knock up a Virgin Mojito faster than Beth could say ‘Uber’, so with World Cocktail Day in our sights we plan to continue to shake it up in Birmingham across the rest of 2016 and beyond.
