Media data

We have undertaken a specific assessment to ensure that the way we handle media data complies with data privacy laws.  We are confident that our basis of handling data represents legitimate business interest.  The key principles of handling media data includes:

  • Sourcing media data using an established data provider, currently Vuelio, that has explicit consent from media to be listed and to be contacted by PR agency users
  • Only using publicly available business data published by the media to facilitate contact or by asking media contacts directly for their details
  • Always offer media contacts the opportunity to opt out of receiving communications and this can be requested by contacting dataprivacy@spottydogcommunications.com

Where a media contact has asked to be no longer contacted by spottydog communications we will add their name only to our no contact list which is held within our central data file and which we reference before conducting media outreach activity.  No other personal details will be stored.

Consumer data

As part of our leisure sector client activity we organise many events around the UK and it is likely that customers will want to have their personal details retained so they can be invited to future events.  However in line with data privacy best practice when client activity is complete we will delete any customer personal data which we have collected unless consumers have consented for their data to be retained by contacting vipevent@spottydogcommunications.com.  They can subsequently be removed from this list by contacting dataprivacy@spottydogcommunications.com
