Marking our tenth anniversary with ten reasons to celebrate

Top PR agency

2020 has started in style as last week we hosted a special celebration dinner at Hotel du Vin in Birmingham to celebrate ten pawsome years of , top PR agency, spottydog. As well as celebrating this cracking milestone, we wanted to thank team members, clients and friends of spottydog who have helped us to take our first steps from start-up to now, in our tenth year, becoming Birmingham’s biggest city centre PR agency.

In just ten years we’ve won 20 awards, worked with over 65 clients, created jobs for 37 team members, relocated five times and it’s been a dog’s life for seven office dogs.

With plenty to celebrate, we’re going to keep the party going across 2020 because we’ve got massive plans for this year – and fittingly we have another ten reasons to keep the celebrations flowing.

#1 In January we moved into our brand-new Birmingham city centre location, bringing our two operations together under one roof and increasing our overall space.  We’re looking forward to hosting an open house on Friday 31st January between 12 and 2pm to welcome our first guests to visit – so drop us a line if you want to come and have a sniff around the new pack HQ

#2 We’re delighted to welcome a trio of talent in our content team with Bob Martin joining us as Creative Services Director heading up our Studio & Creative output…

#3 Alice Sellars as Graphic Designer and

#4 …Alex Panton as Videographer

#5 We’ve just been appointed by global pet brand Earth Animal to launch one of the US’ most popular dog treats into the UK market

#6 In March we’re launching the Coaching Circle, a new networking group for inhouse solo marketing professionals to access peer-to-peer support, brainstorming, learning and development

#7 We’re broadening Talent Spot, our paid work experience programme to provide opportunities for fresh talent to secure their first media, PR, communications or digital role.  This includes our new Open House event inviting students to visit spottydog and hear from young professionals, starting in February.

#8 In February we’re also attending the NUE Awards – the national awards that recognise employers who support graduate employment.  We’ve been shortlisted as being in the top 5 of SME employers nationally, but at the awards ceremony next month we’ll find out if we’ve made it into one of the top spots.

#9 Across 2020 I’m privileged to serve as a Chartered Institute of Public Relations Board member, supporting our industry body for the benefit of CIPR members and the PR profession

#10 Our last reason to celebrate – my team winning the big one – the hotly contested quiz held at our celebration dinner, enthusiastically and professionally MCed by our guest of honour, Midlands Insider Editor Kurt Jacobs. Taking the title with a winning tie-break answer of 496 spotty sweets in jar has sealed a sweet end to the start of our celebrations, but with 2020 choc-ed full of more celebrations it might be time to press pause and detox, before we start the retox very soon.

Thank you again to everyone who has been part of the spottydog story in our first decade, with so much planned for 2020 and beyond we look forward to sharing more tails from the team soon.
