So I’m only a two-week old spotty pup, but already I’ve been able to go to Birmingham with the team twice! On the 9th August, I was lucky enough to accompany my fellow colleagues Katie and Phil to All Bar One Brindley Place to create a film for the Mitchells & Butlers apprenticeship programme.
After a lucky traffic-free drive to Birmingham, I met all of the team, including the lovely Sarah Newton (a teenologist) who was featuring in the video alongside Chad Beesley who is currently an apprentice. The All Bar One team were very accommodating and happy to help which made the day flow easily. The location was picturesque inside and out, and the weather was definitely on our side.
Once we were stuck into filming, I helped with certain directions and script amendments, where necessary. I also took control of getting consent forms completed and making sure everyone and everything was taken care of.
Phil and I even jumped in for a little cameo! When the video is launched, you’ll have to keep your eyes out for our fake date – he only got me a diet coke though (cheapskate!). We got to experience what it’s like to be a reality TV star for ten minutes which was great.
I am still blown away at the fact it is only my second week and I’ve already experienced such fun and exciting things! This filming day was such an amazing event and I loved it (not just because I got a bite of the brownie we used on set – I promise).
It has really opened my eyes to the variety PR provides, so there is never a boring day. Although, I must say it is not all camera crews and cake, a lot of hard work goes into days such as this, but with the team I had alongside me, the long hours seemed to fly by!
I can’t wait for more spotty adventures, and for what is in store for me. But for now, it’s back to the office for cuddles with Zac and looking after all of our lovely clients.
