Congratulations – you’ve spotted a pawsome career opportunity to join the spottydog pack! We’re now on the hunt to find a new junior PR, Social Media and Content Executive to join our Birmingham pack and we hope that you’ll get in touch so we can be new best fur-iends forever.
We really want to find someone who can hit the ground running so to be considered as a candidate for this role you will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the media sector which you’ll have gained through work experience, internship or a relevant degree. Without this level of understanding you may be better suited to apply for the internship role we are also recruiting for.
You’ll be based at our Guildhall office located in Birmingham city centre, next door to Grand Central Station but we’ll let you go off the leash to go walkies to work onsite with clients, for meetings, launch events and to visit our other spottydog pedigree chums at our leafy Leicestershire office.
As an Executive you’ll be predominantly working with a variety of leisure, professional services, pet, technology and healthcare clients to deliver PR, social media, events and digital content activity. On a day-to-day basis you’ll be speaking to clients, journalists, copywriting, managing social media activity, helping to organise events, creating design and digital content collateral, delivering e-marketing activity, managing website content and completing activity reporting.
To be successful you’ll need to have sharp copywriting skills, a strong interest in current affairs, strong creativity, attention to detail and good knowledge of the media landscape, but to be a pedigree performer we’re looking for positive attitude, initiative and commitment to your future career.
If you’re up for a challenge we’ll invest in you with on the job training, CIPR membership and participation in our in-house Junior Skills Development programme. Our intention is to hire pups and help them to become pedigree players and we are passionate about supporting the next generation of talent so it will be in your job description to achieve 60 CPD points each year.
With a pet friendly office you’ll need to like dogs or our office dogs Zac, Buddy, Nelson and Charlie will be upset and we’re a sociable bunch so skills in karaoke, bingo and pub quizzes and in-depth knowledge of Love Island is not essential but may be advantageous. (Alternatively an appreciation of Radio 4, Newsnight, PMQs and Question Time will also help you get ahead).
Although the closing date for applications is 8th September we may conclude our recruitment process in advance of this date if we find the right candidate before this date, so please get your CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org telling us why you want to be our next top dog.
