We’re now on the look-out for the next pup to join our pedigree pack, initially as a three-month internship which we hope will lead to a full-time career opportunity.
This role is based at our Guildhall office located in Birmingham city centre, next door to Grand Central Station but we’ll let you go off the leash to go walkies to work onsite with clients, for meetings, launch events and to visit our other spottydog pedigree chums at our leafy Leicestershire office.
As an intern you’ll be predominantly working on our programme of activity supporting pubs and restaurants across the country to launch and open their doors to local guests, through PR, social media, events and digital content activity. On a day-to-day basis you’ll be speaking to journalists, copywriting, managing social media activity, helping to organise events, creating design and digital content collateral, delivering e-marketing activity, managing website content and completing activity reporting.
To be successful you’ll need to have sharp copywriting skills, a strong interest in current affairs, strong creativity, attention to detail and good knowledge of the media landscape, ideally with some prior experience of working in a PR, marketing or communications agency environment gained during your degree.
With a pet friendly office you’ll need to like dogs or our office dog Zac will be upset, as will some of our lovely pet sector clients. We’re not just barking – as well as working with our ‘pet projects’ we work with clients within the technology, home interest, healthcare, professional services and leisure sectors, so experience or an interest in these areas would enable you to hit the ground running.
This internship offers a three month paid placement salaried at the living wage which provides PR, communications, media and marketing graduates with insight into the roles and responsibilities of a PR, Social Media and Content Executive. We may be open to offering a full-time contract to candidates applying who already have completed an internship or hold significant industry experience already.
We are proud to say that the six internships we have offered over the last four years have resulted in full time roles at spottydog, so we make no apologies that our internship selection process is challenging. We’re not looking for interns to make our coffee and do our admin, we’re looking for a pup that wants to build their career with us and share our passion for creating best of breed communications delivered by pedigree people.
Although the closing date for applications is 3rd April we may conclude our recruitment process in advance of this date if we find the right candidate before this date, so please get your CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org telling us why you want to be our next top dog.
