As the saying goes, we should be languishing in the lazy summer period when clients and colleagues are dipping in and out of their holidays, recovering from the hangover of “that-european-footie-championship” and looking forward to kicking back with “the-one-that’s-happening-in-Rio” but here at spottydog, our quiet office in the summer has been anything but!
This week we welcomed two brand new spottypups with open paws; Jade Lyons & Christina Rotondo have joined our Leicester office on our PR, Communications and Social Media internship programme but there’s been even more hustle and bustle thanks to the visit of Nicola Roe from Birmingham University who has been doing a fantastic job shadowing placement in our Studio team.
Our summer highlight was the news a couple of weeks ago that our agency has been shortlisted for a sumptuous six CIPR Midlands Pride Awards including; Best use of Photography or Design, Best Event, STEM Campaign, Best use of Digital, Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy and Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy, that’s one more than last year and we’re really hoping that on 30th September we’ll be able to add another cheeky gold to our medal cabinet.
We’ve also been making a splash with a host of client events; launching the VerveLife wireless earphones for Motorola, hosting the Leicester Tigers at AquaPark Rutland and of course promoting the Jewellery Quarter Festival in Birmingham. I can tell you that we’d be hitting serious puppy goals if we were wearing PitPat activity trackers.
On a personal note, I’ve been able to share some European ‘joie de vivre’ as my family and I have relocated to the UK after five years of living in France. It’s great to be back in the pack after being a homeworker for the last few years and after meeting and greeting our clients and partners, first on my list is to introduce cheese and wine ‘dégustations’ as an alternative to Champagne Fridays. A strong start I think…which reminds me that our newest client Appassionata is based in La Marque, Italy. ‘Che bello!’ I feel a pasta making workshop coming on…
