It’s no secret that the spottydog team are passionate about pets, so National Pet Month marks the start of a busy April for us.
Of course, it’s the ‘pawfect’ opportunity to celebrate our own furry friends (who you can meet over on our Instagram), but we’ve also got an exciting month of marketing activities lined up for our pet clients.
Ramping up pet PR
Kickstarting the celebrations, we’re delighted to welcome award-winning event Woofstock to the pack. The dog-themed festival (yes, you heard that right!) is set to return this summer with a host of exciting attractions, including dog shows, live music performances and unique activities such as paw painting at the ‘Pawcasso’ tent. We can’t wait to get stuck into some graphic design work and providing PR support that gets tails wagging.
We’re also excited to be fully immersed in 2021’s search for the UK’s Hardest Dog for our client, Autarky. Last year, this campaign scooped three prestigious PR awards, and it’s back bigger and better than ever with the Working From Home Stars category — celebrating the support our dogs have provided during the pandemic. Engaging pet influencers
Influencer marketing is a super effective tactic within the pet world, so we’re excited to launch a photography competition for our client, HiLife, as part of National Pet Month.
Designed to engage pet influencers across the UK, the competition encourages cat and dog parents to share pictures of their animal companions #LivingTheHiLife for a chance to win a huge prize bundle featuring some of our favourite pet brands.
Virtual online fundraising event
National Pet Month isn’t all about sharing adorable selfies of our animal companions on social media, however; its purpose lies in raising awareness of responsible pet ownership.
An additional 3 million dogs were welcomed into UK homes in the last year — and while it’s great news that we’ve become a nation of pet lovers, it’s important that pets are supported as the restrictions begin to ease and as they get used to their owners not being around 24/7.
In response, we’ve teamed up with Birmingham Dogs Home to a host a fundraising event at 7pm on Tuesday 27th April — ‘Supawting our dogs out of lockdown’. With the aim of helping owners and their pets take their first steps out into the wider world, the virtual event brings together a host of pet experts to offer their advice and top tips.
As a fundraising initiative, tickets to attend are £5, but 10 lucky guests will be picked at random to win a hamper packed full of goodies.
