Brief

spottydog was briefed by Motorola to launch its brand new Scout 83 pet monitoring camera and to raise awareness through consumer and trade press titles through a PR communications strategy.

Action

spottydog communications implemented a communications strategy including press activity and Social Media. By creating dedicated social channels on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram and Vine under the name Pets On Camera, Motorola was able to tap into pet conversations, present the new Motorola Pet Monitor and meet potential customers. By producing 4 co-branded videos with the RSPCA, spottydog communications was able to amplify its message on its social channels and third party channels.

As part of this campaign we have secured coverage in consumer and trade publications such as The Lady Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, Pet Trade Xtra, Your Dog Magazine, Dogs Monthly, Sussex Style, Crufts Magazine, James Wellbeloved Magazine, Tech Digest, Pet Business World, Pet Product Marketing, Ideal Home, The Daily Mail, and piggybacking on an opportunity to get the Global MD interviewed live on the business slot of BBC Radio 2.

Our social media activity has created a community of over 3,000 pet fans in 4 months who are regularly engaging with branded content, including retweets from celebrities such as Ricky Gervais and BBC Technology Editor Rory-Cellan Jones.
