To support the CASiM² project – a collaborative project between the University of Birmingham and the Manufacturing Technology Centre. Funded by the ERDF, CASiM² offers consultancy at reduced cost to SMEs in the West Midlands and enables them to use simulation and modelling technology with PR strategy.
The challenge was to raise awareness of CASiM² to a niche audience (SMEs in West Midlands), to introduce them to this innovative partnership and explain how it can benefit their business.
Our PR strategy involved press office activity to secure regional and specialist trade press, using live events as a hub for press coverage and the creation of informative CASiM² case studies which could be used by all project partners. We also published CAScade, a regular e-newsletter to CASiM² prospective clients.
With over 50 pieces of coverage so far, high profile publicity has included ITV Central News, The Engineer and The Manufacturer publications. Furthermore our successful CAScade e-newsletters achieved 30% open rates which is 10% above the industry average benchmark. The project continues and we are pleased to work on this campaign as a public sector supplier.
