Brief
To provide an ongoing media consultancy for Mitchells & Butlers which supports the requirement for company spokespersons to be trained to deliver media interviews, to ensure the business maximises and builds its corporate reputation i the form of corporate media training.
Action
Delivering media training and coaching to internal stakeholders so they are confident and competent to take part in media interviews and speaking opportunities. This includes message formulation; understanding your audience; scenario planning; developing Q&As; and bridging techniques.
A combination of formal and informal coaching techniques were used to deliver the training to match the needs of the business. Training given at Executive team level, as well as at senior management level, to support more technical subject areas such as Health & Safety and Energy Management.
Result
A network of internal stakeholders ready and able to respond to incoming media interview requests, as well as positioning the company to seek out proactive opportunities. The business has a range of spokespeople available to respond on a variety of topics. This not only reinforces the expertise of the company but also establishes it as a leader and credible voice industry wide.
