First things first, I love All Bar One so when we found out we were going on a road trip to Southampton to help launch All Bar One West Quay, I was so excited!
Apparently I wasn’t alone; the local media and public were thrilled to be invited along, as this was the first All Bar One in the Hampshire area and it was opening in the brand new Watermark development, which had caused lots of buzz around the local area.
We were involved in a lot of the lead-up to the opening, from inviting the public, local businesses, media and local influencers, to organising the photographer and writing press releases to issue to local press. One of our tasks was to manage the All Bar One West Quay Facebook page, creating graphics, uploading gifs and announcing competitions – we were really pleased with the outstanding level of interaction the page received; we grew the page from 50 likes to 800 likes in a week.
So when it came to opening night, it felt great to stand in All Bar One West Quay with the guest list in our hands.
Chloe and I looked after the guest list, which was one of my favourite parts of managing the event – it’s such a great feeling to welcome people to the event, and chat to passers-by who can’t help but ask what’s going on! When the guests started to arrive, we offered them a complimentary glass of prosecco and the All Bar One staff mixed up cocktails at the bar and served delicious canapés throughout the evening.
It’s such a satisfying feeling seeing the venue that you have been working on for weeks start to fill up with the guests you invited laughing, taking photos and having a great time.
What baffled me the most is how quickly time flies – the thought of managing the guest list for four hours seems a bit of a daunting task at first, but it was soon over and we had a full bar and a very happy client. So of course, we celebrated with a cocktail of our own and a much-welcomed sit down!
Looking back on the event, my favourite part was the overwhelming amount of positive comments we received! Lots of people came over to thank me, Chloe and the All Bar One team as they left, and said they can’t wait to return. Considering there was limited brand awareness in the Hampshire area to begin with, it was brilliant to know that the evening had helped to build up a positive impression of the brand and made it the new go-to place in Southampton.
The opening of All Bar One West Quay was a great experience for me, seeing everything unfold to a successful and busy launch night is a great accomplishment! First opening of 2017? A success!
